About Us

Home, Photograph and Home Office Organizing Karen Embree, founder of Creative Organized Solutions, has been organizing her world for over 40 years. From cleaning and straightening her childhood room so all the stuffed animals were sitting upright in their chairs, to labeling all the learning centers in her classroom when she taught second grade. She has also improved the efficiency of every office she ever worked in, ran a successful pet-sitting business for 10 years and spent her free time organizing all areas of her home of over 30 years in Seal Beach. In 2002, she discovered her talent for organizing was a recognized profession and launched Creative Organized Solutions.

As a Professional Organizer, Karen believes that organizing your space and life creates more leisure time, relieves stress and improves life balance. Her clients learn to reclaim their space so they will know exactly what they have and where they have it. Her home office organizing strengths include setting up systems, files, labeling, expense reporting and using QuickBooks. Karen has a wide variety of expertise in residential organizing as well, including garages, children’s rooms, kitchens and master closets. She is also an experienced scrap booker and assists her clients in photo projects.

Karen brings her natural exuberance and enthusiasm into every job she does. Her clients say she has a “natural ability of guiding in a very pleasant way.” In fact, one client said, “Getting rid of items that I no longer needed has made room for what is really important in my life. Karen is about creating opportunities for growth and making gradual but permanent changes. Thanks to Karen, my home is now my sanctuary. And it will stay that way.”

Active in life and in her community, Karen has run 24 marathons and knows what it takes to stick to a challenging goal while juggling multiple priorities. She also loves to swim, rollerblade and is learning to surf. In addition to her physical pursuits, Karen is a writer with several articles published in her hometown newspaper as well as on the web. She can be found at home playing her ukulele or relaxing with numerous art projects, is a mother of two sons and donates time as a pet therapy volunteer with her lab, Lola.

Karen received her undergraduate degree from Whittier College and holds a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), Organizers’ Network of Orange County (ONOC) and is a trained FreedomFiler® Consultant.
